2021 Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Barbara County

This is a crisp, bright, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc from Curtis Vineyard in Santa Barbara County right up Foxen Canyon Road.These grapes come from very old vines and create wines with beautiful flavors and vibrant, fresh, natural acidity. This wine was fermented cool in neutral French Oak barrels for 5 months prior to being bottled in March. Enjoy this wine on a warm spring or summer day while relaxing by the pool or with exotic, spicy foods.

2019 Chardonnay, Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills

Chardonnay can show the Winemaker’s thumbprint and we like ours to be complex but not heavy and buttery. This Chardonnay comes from the coolest AVA of Santa Barbara, the Santa Rita Hills. It is grown in very sandy soils on the western end of the appellation and is 100% barrel fermented in French Oak for mouthfeel and richness. The cool climate provides beautiful natural acidity with fresh green apple, pear and minerality. It is pale yellow in color and will pair well with fresh seafood and local greens, or spicy food.

2022 Pinot Noir Rosé, Sta. Rita Hills

Summer is the perfect time for a beautiful glass of rosé.  This rosé of Pinot Noir comes from Rancho Las Hermanas vineyard in the cool, foggy, windswept Santa Rita Hills.  The grapes were whole-cluster pressed resulting in the pretty, pale pink color.  It was barrel fermented with a Burgundian isolate yeast and aged in barrel for four months prior to being bottled in early March of this year.  This pretty wine has beautiful aromas of strawberry, cherry, watermelon and rose petals with bright flavors of strawberry, cherry, cranberry and vanilla.  Enjoy this wine at the pool on a warm day or with seafood appetizers and spicy foods.

2018 GSM, Los Olivos District

This type of blend is common in many parts of the world. You will find similar blends in the Southern Rhone Valley of France, Australia and even Spain. Along with, of course, the newly formed Los Olivos District in Santa Barbara Wine Country. Australia coined the abbreviation GSM. This is related to the dominant percentages of the blend. This particular blend is 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. Grenache adds bright red fruit while Syrah adds blue fruit, color, depth and structure and Mourvedre adds complexity with forest floor and spice. This wine was aged in a combination of large 500L French oak puncheons and 228L Burgundy barrels for over 22 months. Enjoy this beautiful wine with a hearty steak, lamb or wild game.

2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, Happy Canyon Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon is arguably the most “famous” wine grape in the world!  Is has been produced for centuries in Bordeaux and fetches over $1000 per bottle from many of the top Chateau’s.  In the United States, cult Napa Valley Cabs also cost several hundreds of dollars per bottle!  Recently Happy Canyon, the warmest area in Santa Barbara County, has started to rival some of these wines at a much lower price.  This Cabernet is very traditional to the varietal with black cherry, red plum, baking spices and a hint of tobacco.  It was aged in 100%  French Taransaud barrels for over two years prior to being bottled.  This is a wonderful Cabernet that will pair great with a nice big Tri-tip, Ribeye or other BBQ beef.

2019 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills

Pinot Noir is one of the most noble grape varietals in the world with the longest history in Burgundy. It is located in the cool Santa Rita Hills and the vines are planted in ancient seabed.  The vines struggle to survive in this environment but produce cool climate Pinot Noir with intense flavors and aromas.  These grapes were 70% destemmed with 30% whole-cluster, without being crushed, into a small 1.5ton fermentor and foot stomped or punched down during fermentation.  This wine was aged in 100% French Oak for 16 months and has gorgeous red and dark fruit aromas and flavors that make it easy to enjoy on its own or pair with your favorite pork preparation.

2019 John Sebastiano Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills

The John Sebastiano Vineyard is located on the the 246 Highway at the gateway to the Santa Rita Hills. It is planted to extreme hillsides and is wind swept. Because of the extremetiy of this site, it produduces a very small crop with beuatiful intensity.  2019 was a beautiful vintage that resulted in wines with wonderful concentration, purity of fruit and depth. This pinot noir from the cool, John Sebastiano Vineyard shows the classic bright, red fruit characteristic of the variety along with earth and mouthwatering acidity. This wine is a perfect choice for the classic turkey dinner and will pair beautifully with pork preperations as well.

2014 Zotovich Vineyard Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is one of the most noble grape varietals in the world with the longest history in Burgundy. The Zotovich Vineyard is one of the leading sites in the Santa Rita Hills! I also make a Zotovich Vineyard Syrah for Blair Fox Cellars. These vines are planted in beach sand and the majority of this vineyard is flat, while the days are warm and foggy with very cool nights. It was fermented in a small 1.5-ton fermentor with 30% whole-cluster and 90% whole-berry. It was punched down by hand one to three times per day, basket pressed and aged in older French oak for 16 months prior to being bottled.
